Another thing that I just have to admit from this week was an unplanned trip to McDonald's. Yes, you heard me right, the famed greasy fast food establishment. Well, this is a good time for me to say as an extension of my previous post about my
food philosophy that my children will not be deprived of the fast food opportunity. I grew up with McDonald's as a treat and my boys will too. It will not be a daily event, but we will enjoy a happy meal on occasion.

So, we had received quite a bit of snow for our area over the weekend and decided to get out in the morning and see the sites. Weekend breakfast is a good time for us to eat out as a family as the boys are both "up for it." We set out for one of our favorite destinations, Cracker Barrel, to find that it wasn't open due to the weather. The only place open for breakfast was McDonald's. At this point, you might be wondering why were we out in the snow at all. I can tell you that I was wondering the same thing myself, but enjoyed every single minute of it.
Well, I of course had brought some cereal and fruit for the boys to eat, but usually share something from my plate as well. I thought this would be just the perfect snow event to introduce the boys to the greasy delight. They each had some of my biscuit and hashbrown. There lips were a little greasy when done, but ultimately they enjoyed the outing and came back home for a nice, restful nap.
